I have received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts are 100% mine and I was not compensated in any way by the Author.
This was my first book that I have read by L.A. Cotton, and I already fell in love with her writing. The book has it all: love, friendship, drama, danger, past, secrets, lies. And I love it! But before I will move to my review…
Chastity Falls Academy is supposed to be her fresh start; her salvation. And when Ana meets mysterious Jackson, she begins to think it is. She hasn’t smiled in almost sixteen months; not since the night her life changed forever, and despite her guilt…her loyalty, Ana can’t deny that Jackson is breathing life back into her. With Jackson by her side, Ana wants to believe she can heal and move on. But she isn’t the only one living a lie, and the small private Academy has secrets of its own. All is not what it seems, and Ana is about to find herself in a tangled web of lies; fighting for survival, again.
Loyalties will be tested, lies will be told. Welcome to Chastity Falls.
In here the story is told by Savanah “Ana” Parry. Eighteen year old girl, that moved thousands of miles, to start college away from her home town…away from people she knew…away from her painful memories. She tries to blend in, be invisible. Until she meets Jackson. A mysterious guy, that loves literature and Shakespeare. Who would not fall for a guy like that? And in addition he has a killer green eyes. As they start to spent more and more time together, Ana starts to fall for him. She starts to FEEL. And after almost 2 years of not feeling anything, of being simply numb, she thinks he is her salvation. Until she discovers who he really is. A best friend, second in command of the most spoilt jock in college. And what is more: Jackson’s best friend is a son of the most dangerous guy in Chastity Falls, who owns everything and it seems, everyone also. But despite Jacksons, other people and her own warnings, that being with Jax won’t be easy, she decides to have a secret relationship with Jackson. Until one night, were dramatic events causes their secret to come to life.
I love Ana. She is the type of a heroine, where she is damaged, but is not pitiful. She doesn’t want pity. She wants to start feeling, but her constant guilt after an accident 2 years ago, she is not letting herself to live. But being with Jackson is not only making her feel, but she is also thrown in the middle of the war between 2 towns, and also it causes Jax’s best friend to think that she is messing up HIS family.
Jackson. God, I simply love him. He is not typical jock. Of course, he loves the popularity and girls, that basically throw themselves at him, but after she meets Ana, sees her for the first time, everything changes for him. And this is beautiful. The only problem with him is: he is not sure what is more important: love or loyalty. And this causes tragic events to follow.
The book has a cliffhanger, but as I love cliffhangers, I did not mind it!
The book deserves 5 stars, for it’s mystery, drama, relationships and all the characters, that are so well developed!
