Blurb:

To protect her family and find a killer, Felicia “Lucky” Fascino assumed her adoptive father’s identity and joined the network, of moral assassins, to finish the job he began. Eliminating the man responsible for murdering her mother has consumed her for the last five years. Completing the job is the only way Lucky and her family can return to a safe and normal life. Lucky’s uncle, Stephen Chambers, hasn’t come close to tracking the killer. He announces he’s stepping down as her handler to concentrate on the investigation and names Elizabeth, his daughter, as successor.

Keeping secrets is a family trait, and Elizabeth’s addition to the business tests Lucky’s ability to maintain the pretence that the job doesn’t affect her despite the fact that all network hits are hardened criminals. While keeping her family at arm’s length, Lucky begins to feel the weight of her career choice and reclusive lifestyle. Then a chance encounter with an enigmatic hit man during one of her jobs turns into a provocative and dangerous affair. Distracted by the secret trysts with Kenji Zinn and mounting tension within her family, Lucky starts to make mistakes that threaten her livelihood and almost claim her life. When her family is targeted, Lucky must make several rash decisions she believes can save them and preserve her own sanity.

My thoughts:

I have received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

It was my first book by Jenn and I have to say that I’m shocked that it has only few reviews as this book is amazingly well written, with a story that makes you gasp with every page and with very well developed characters.

Felicia, who was adopted by Luciano and Molly, thought that life can get only better. She has an exciting, but dangerous job and she is good at it. But her life can’t be simple and a happy one. She has a job that normally is consider as a man job.

The book pulled me in straight away. From the first chapter I engrossed in the characters and plot. Especially when Looking at the title I thought that it will be a nice romance book haha But Jenn took it to a totally different level. The book is amazing and even though there is love, it’s not a main focus of the book which was refreshing.

Ending caused me to open my mouth in shock and straight away take second part of the book.

Amazing 5 stars!

Blurb: After almost losing her uncle Phen during the investigation of her mother’s murder, Felicia “Lucky” Fascino cut all ties and ran away, hoping her family would move on and forget the promises they made. Putting the past behind her has never been easy, but Lucky knows working as an assassins slowly destroying her already fractured psyche. Staying away, especially now that her family is in danger, is the only way to keep everyone safe.

Kenji Zinn, determined to locate his ex-lover, tracks Lucky to a small island with her family’s help, and finds her in a miserable and self-destructive condition.Their connection is strained after months apart, but his feelings haven’t changed, and he attempts to persuade her to come home, to protect her family and keep her promise. But only Phen is able to convince Lucky that the way to get closure is finding an elusive man named Quimby and take him out permanently.

While her family continues to track their target, Lucky returns to work for the network—struggling through each job, aware that pushing her family away won’t bring anyone the peace they deserve. As she repairs her shattered relationships, her true feelings for Kenji are tested when she almost loses him completely. Before it’s too late, Lucky realizes he’s her best ally to help her finish what she started and find Quimby before he strikes again.

My thoughts:

I have received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have read the first part, like within hours after starting I couldn’t wait to start this one. I was so glad that I have all the book available! I don’t know if I would be able to wait for the next part.

The book picks up few months after the first book has finished. And I have to admit the jobs are amazingly well described her. Jenn didn’t disappoint me with the variety of tasks that Lucky had to complete. The plot and story line flows perfectly, main characters and secondary ones are complementing each other even better than in the first part and that made me really happy.

We still can see Lucky’s struggle between her feelings for the family and Ken. What I really enjoyed that author has put more emphasis on Felicia’s and Ken’s feelings, personalities so the reader can really get to know them. Have the same feelings they have.

Even though in here we can see that all her jobs are going smoothly, and are even too easy sometimes the main goal, finding the killer of her mother, is not that simple. Lucky is near the man who killed her, but it’s kind of hinted that this is more complicated and more people are involved in it than she previously thought.

This is an amazing series, with heart stopping cliffhangers, that makes me (personally) scream in frustration but also I can’t wait for more, as I love a good cliffhanger. And this book has it.

 Well deserved 5 stars!
