When seventeen-year-old Hailey’s multi-racial, single parent family migrate to the tiny rural town of Corpus, Georgia (population 700), she would rather have moved anywhere but there.

That is, until she spots him. Mysterious definitely, perhaps even supernatural. Where Hailey is awe-struck by the young man of her dreams, her little brother, Mason, sees a soulless creature of the night, a half-man who may be responsible for a series of grisly murders across the southern gothic town.

Antwan Zeddman, the town’s first African-American Sheriff, must enforce a curfew in Corpus to ensure the safety of the townsfolk. He must contend with sightings of hellish winged beasts and investigate the slaying of an innocent young couple traveling through town. There is a growing sense of racial unrest. Hailey will find herself caught between her family, the residents of Corpus, and the vampire she’s falling in love with.

The Grateful Boys is an otherworldly Young Adult novel which explores the challenges of growing up mixed raced in the southern states of America, and the troubles of a young woman coming of age in a town full of danger and temptation.

Dash Fan Book Reviews

For a debut book it’s a really good and solid story. Author has created an eerie and mysterious world who few times gave me goosebumps.

The book touches few issues like racism and small town bend on staying in the past. We have here few POVs and at times it did confuse me who is currently narrating but overall it was a really good book.

The story itself follows new kids in town, Hailey and Mason. And their friends who are something else than they seem to appear.

A good paranormal story.

3.5 stars from me only because of the confusion with POVs and few editing issues.

My Very first book by Ms Jefford and I have enjoyed very much. I own every single one of her books but I just don’t have time lately to read what I want. So when an ARC opportunity came for her new series I jumped on the occasion. And I am so glad I did!

This book will definitely keep you on your toes. There is action all the time and I love it. Characters that are likeable, believable and just purely awesome.

Shifters, humans and creatures in a post apocalyptic world is something that I like!

Highly recommended.

5 stars!

Review: Imbalance by Heather Hildenbrand

O. M. F. G. I really thought that Heather is not able to make my jaw hit the floor even harder after the previous part but she managed. Brilliantly. Geniusly (no idea if such word exists). She is a queen of twists. An evil queen but hey she creates awesome books so I’m okay with that!
I can’t really say much about the story at this point as anything would be a major spoiler. But this is my favourite part so far.
I cannot wait for the next book and surprises she will bring us!
Massive. Huge. Enormous 5 stars.
Well done Ms. Hildenbrand.

ARC Review: Demon Ember by M. J. Haag

Wow. This book. This story. This world pulled me in straight away. It starts quite innocently with tremors in another country and college girl being interested in them. Nothing unusual right? Until the tremors start to happen in US too. And after the tremors weird big dogs start to appear.
By chapter three I had goosebumps. It was getting that good already.
Mya is a normal college student, fighting her way through finals and missing her family. I loved her relationship with her brother. From the beginning you can tell they are close. #Freaksbyblood
I also really liked her way of thinking. She wanted to panic but was pushing it down, but at the same time wasn’t a badass heroine that suddenly knew how to shoot and kill. She was more real.
Ms Haag created a masterpiece of an apocalyptic world. Dog like creatures spreading infection that makes people attack healthy. And HIM. Can you have a crush on a creature not from your normal world? That is not really handsome or hot but has that Something? Well I guess you can because I’m crushing real hard in him.
I cannot wait for the next part. I really want more. Like now please?
Definitely a 5 star read!

She is his only hope. If only he wanted to be saved.
Alex is cured… sort of. After letting the mysterious Indra work her magic, the venom is gone but so is Alex’s ability to feel. He’s not dead, but he’s not really alive either. Numb inside, he turns his back on Sam and everyone else. The only person he’ll really listen to is his new master…
Sam’s angry and lost. Her destiny was to heal, but so far, all she’s done is hurt herself and others. When Alex chooses another woman’s healing over hers, Sam’s doubts and fears become the very thing that separate her from her true potential. Despite Sam’s broken heart, she is determined to make her magic work, no matter the cost. No price can be higher than the one she paid watching Alex walk away.
Sam will do whatever it takes. And she’ll never stop trying to change Alex’s mind—and his heart.
But Alex has his orders and he doesn’t care who they affect. Love hurts. But in this case, it just might kill…
Book 3 in the Heart Lines Series.

Like OMG. Heather is an evil genius. A queen of twists in the story. Whatever she creates in that head of hers once put in a book is simply a masterpiece.

Esperance in no different. After the ending of book 2 I din not expect everything that happened here! I knew it wouldn’t be easy on Sam and Alex, and their relationship but wow! Heather likes to make them work!

The ending made my jaw drop to the floor and she definitely opened so many scenarios in my head that my imagination is working overtime now!

Really well done and well deserved 5 stars!!

ARC Review: Betrayers by Tara Brown

OMG. OMG OMG. This ending. I don’t want it to end. Like ever. She again created a masterpiece. I swear. Tara has a way of describing any world she creates that makes you sit on the edge, bite your nails, scream, curse her and declare everlasting love to her. All at the same time.
I started crying pretty early. I think 5%? And the emotional rollercoaster she put me through made me take a picture of me ugly crying and message it to her on Facebook. Yeah. She was happy I ugly cried. And she should be. It meant job well done.
I won’t tell you guys what happened. You need to read it. Hell. You need to read the whole series to understand all the feels.
After waiting so long for this part my only thinking is: it was so so so worth the wait.
The ending gives you everything you may want from this series. Even though I don’t want it to end.
Masterpiece created by one talented lady.
Loved it. 5 stars.

Even if they win, they will all lose.

From the moment Kai Stanton laid eyes on Daiya, he knew something was special about her. But a haze surrounds them, and like a dark cloud, it shadows their relationship. What if his feelings aren’t his own? Can he trust himself? Can he trust the girl he’s almost certain he’s falling in love with? With Kai’s father back and insistent on inserting himself into his life, everything starts to spin out of control. He doesn’t know what—or who—to believe anymore.

Daiya Cattiva knew awakening would be difficult, but she had no idea she would find herself at the center of an ancient prophecy that could change everything. She knows her destiny is entwined with Kai’s, but how can she be sure what he feels is real and not just the allure of the demon inside her? Either way, Kai’s life hangs in the balance, and Daiya must make a choice: save Kai over the greater good, or be with Kai and risk her demon consuming him.

It only takes one touch … the next could be their last

I thought that Ms. White is not able to surprise me with this series any further. But she did. And it’s oh. So. Good.
The story continues where book 1 left us all hanging. Dayia has found out that Isaac is Kai’s father and that their love is even more complicated. She thought Kai is just a boy that is destined to help her break the course and fulfill the prophecy but as the story unfolds it gets more and more twisted and dark.

Kai is not only fighting his feelings of love towards Dayia but as his own awakening is near he finds the urge to hunt all Lilituria. Now he needs to chose between being with her and protecting her.

I liked that Ms. White concentrate on Kai’s struggles here. It gave me even better understanding what he is going through.

5 stars and I cannot wait for the next part. Especially because of that ending!! ❤

ARC Review and release Blitz: Marked by D. Laine

They have prepared their entire lives for this moment, but can they survive it?
For trained assassin Dylan Romero, business is good. As the agency’s top warriors, he and partner Jake Walker are the last two people evil wants to see on the other side of a gun.
When a mission takes them to the college town of Bozeman, Montana, they discover that there is more than just another mark in another town to keep them there. With a heavy concentration of vessels doing their demon masters’ dirty work and flesh-craving monsters lurking around every corner, the secluded Midwest town is set to become the first battleground of the apocalypse.

The last thing Dylan needs is a distraction. With the fate of the world at stake, the life of one girl shouldn’t matter – until the day she changes everything.

OMG. It’s a long time since I read I really good apocalyptic book which is not part of a series I already started.

Ms. Laine has created a masterpiece that I enjoyed 2 two times already. That’s how much I loved the story.

Marked is set in the world we live now. The main characters are assassins fighting “the others” to prevent them to take over the world and make it a living hell. Literally.

The book is mainly told from POV of Dylan. An assassin who, together with his partner, is cleansing the world from the creatures. I’m not gonna say anymore as you have to read it otherwise I will be spoiling the fun.

I loved the fact that Ms D. Has told the story from male perspective. It’s different to what I normally read.

Dylan is hotheaded. He prefers to act first then ask questions. Which sometimes is funny and other times you just want to shake your head. But even though he is like that he is sexy and yeah all the way #TeamDylan.

Loved it and if I could I would give it more stars.

5 awesome stars.
