Lex needs a secret weapon to defeat a competitor and finds it in Jillian Finnegan. He has no intention of letting her potty mouth, her crazy lifestyle, or her eccentric family get in his way. So when he makes her an offer, he expects her to accept. However, sparks start to fly when Jillian gives him a counteroffer and dares him to refuse. Has Lex finally met his match?

Let the seduction begin.

Writing about myself is not as easy as penning a saga about fictitious characters. Where to start? What to add? What to leave out? Don’t want to bore you with stories of my childhood…when I walked, got potty-trained, talked…so I’ll start with the more interesting stuff.

I started making up fairytale stories before I could write, even wrote a play which was performed by my class in high school, but I didn’t complete my first story until I finished my PhD in chemistry and decided to be a stay-at-home mother.

The first books I wrote were picture books about the adventures of a little lion called Little Leo and his pet Cockatoo. My kids got a kick out of hearing me read them out aloud. Then I moved to mid-grade chapter books. Their favorite was Goldilocks before the Three Bears.

Then I tried my hand at contemporary romance and romantic suspense, wrote Slow Burn and Mine Until Dawn. They weren’t polished and I didn’t like the direction they’d taken, so I shelfed them. One, because as a self-taught author, I was still learning the craft and my first attempts were pitiful. Second, I couldn’t read them to my children.

And the little munchkins grew and became teens and moody and impossible to please… digressing again. As teens, my babies wanted to read teen books. Vampires and werewolves were in. A professor of mine once told me that you can either be the first or the best at what you do. I wasn’t too keen on jumping on the vampire/werewolf bandwagon, so being first was out. And I couldn’t see myself being the best, self-taught writer that I am. So I decided to write something different–the fallen angels.

The idea for Awakened (originally named The Awakening) rose from the inner recesses of my mind after I came across the stories of kris daggers. All I knew was that the weapon had to be at the center of my story. Soon the characters formed in my head and wouldn’t leave me alone, especially an orphaned girl named Lil.

Finding a home for Awakened wasn’t easy. Books about fallen angels by other authors hit the shelves while I was still trying to find an agent and an editor willing to take a chance on me.

Finally my agent found a home for it. While I waited for edits, I went back and polished Slow Burn andMine Until Dawn. And that’s how I came to write both YA fantasy about the fallen angels and adult contemporary romance with or without suspense.

When not writing, I spend time with my family. I live in picturesque valley in northern Utah with my husband, five children and two cats.

Impulse by E.B. Walters (Infinitus Billionaire, #1)

I have received an ARC copy from the author in exchange of an honest review.

The only word that comes to my head is: Sexy as hell. OK, that’s three words. But honestly WOW. The book is sexy, steamy and funny. If you want to be taken into roller-coaster of sexiness by a sexy billionaire: THIS IS IT.

Small blurb:

Let the seduction begin

23906007Even the model on the cover is sexy ❤

In the book we meet Alexander “Lex” Fitzgerald, an alpha male, who works as hard as he is partying. He likes to have control everywhere. Inside his family and company he is the one, that is responsible, always taking care of everything and everyone. In his life women came and went. Since his last girlfriend he didn’t have anyone special. Until he meets Jillian. After that meeting and their first talk, which was as sexy as hell, she is hooked. He wants her. He needs her. And what he does: He takes what he wants.

The other main character is Jillian. Fearless, sarcastic and protective woman, who doesn’t like to be told what to do. She likes to have control. In live and in the bedroom. Until she meets Lex, but she refuses to give in to temptation his eyes are promising as she promised to stop falling for wrong men. And she knew that he was not for her. Rich and hot? She was done with men like him. But after his offer, she is unable to refuse is she wants to help her family, even though she was pushed away by her father. He was still her family, and family was everything to her. She agrees to Lex’s offer and the seductions begins.

The story is amazing. The characters amazingly well constructed. Once you start reading it you can’t stop. The whole world, that Ednah has created just sucks in and you are taken for a hot ride.
You have mystery, family, danger and lots, LOTS of steamy sex. The attraction between the characters made me blush and their sex? Oh wow, I was panting after every single scene.

In my opinion it’s her best book from all I have read (and I have read most of them). It’s well written, everything falls into place and there is no abruptly left things that makes you wonder, what happened. The supporting characters are also brilliantly developed and you can see from the book who will get their own story, which I just love, when there is a promise of more of a great book.

So now I will go, grab my husband and do all those crazy things that are rattling around my mind since yesterday.

The book is to be released on 30th of January, so watch this space for links to Amazon, etc. and the full promo 🙂

Slow Burn by E.B. Walters (Fitzgerald Series, book 1)

I had this book in my library for a long time. I bought it when I started reading Ednah’s YA books (Runes and Guardians series), why I haven’t read it sooner? No idea. There was always another book that got my attention.

Small Blurb:

She doesn’t want to deal with the past…

Ten years ago, Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed the death of her parents in a tragic fire and blocked the memory. She pretends to have moved on, is a successful artist and photographer, until the morning she opens her door to a stranger she assumes is a model and asks him to strip to his briefs .

He wants to expose the truth….

Wealthy businessman Ron Noble has the body, the jet, the fast cars and the women, but he hides a deadly secret. His father started the fire that killed Ashley’s parents. Now someone is leaving him clues that could exonerate his father and they lead to Ashley’s door. Blindsided by the blazing attraction between them and a merciless killer silencing anyone who was there the night of the fire, Ron dare not tell Ashley the truth. Yet the answer he seeks may very well tear them apart.

While a demented arsonist…SLOW BURN(s)…and plots his ultimate revenge.

I have to admit: the first 50ish pages didn’t really sell the book to me. I struggled to get the feeling of the book, but as I am a stubborn person and just hate leaving books half read (even at school I was reading all of them, when they were boring LOL). I stuck with it and I am glad that I did. The book is interested, we have 2 main characters: an artist that had a tragic accident when she was 15 and lost two most important people in her life and a sexy playboy, who’s father was involved in the accident 10 years ago.

Ashley, the main female protagonist is an artist who paints erotic acts (sexy as hell straight away!), who doesn’t remember what happened 10 years ago when her parents tried to purchase property, Calyle Mansion. She wants to buy it and hopefully put the past where it belongs: in the past. But then she meets, Ronald Noble. Sexy, flirtatious rich man, who wants to reveal the truth behind the accident, where as rumours say, his father was responsible for. He is trying to get close to Ashley and make her remember this traumatic event, even if he will have to seduce her. But what they both haven’t thought about are lust and passion they feel straight away.

The characters are well developed, but I have to admit I didn’t like that the bad guys are revealed so early. I was expecting more intrigue there and more gasping moments.

The book is not the best from the author, but I will read the rest of the series as they seem to be interesting.

Strong 4 stars as for me.

Dusk by Alyssa Rose Ivy (Dire Chronicles, book 2)

I have received an ARC copy from the author for an honest review.

Finally the second book is here!!! After 1st part, where Alyssa showed the readers that she can write a bit darker books, I was left impatiently waiting for the next part.

After you have sacrificed your freedom what else is there to lose?

Mary Anne has given her word to Hunter that she’ll stay as his mate, but every second she spends with him takes her further away from Gage when he needs her the most.

Caught between love and duty, Mary Anne discovers that her troubles are just beginning, and that sometimes love comes at a great price.

The book picks up, where the last book has left: after the rescue mission, where Hunter has saved Gage from the crazy witches. And Gage wakes up, not entirely as himself. Even though he feels stronger, more powerful – keeping control is an issue. A big issue. And learning what Mary Anne has promised to Hunter, so he can be saved is not helping him to stay calm. Especially when he realised that his feelings for the girl are deeper than any of them thought. But to keep them both safe and to make sure that Hunter will finish what he started, he pretends not to have any feelings at all. But by doing it the very girl is hurt.

Mary Anne, after agreeing to be Hunter’s mate in exchange for rescuing Gage, finds herself in the situation, where she feels like a prisoner with no way out. She is not allowed to talk to Gage, check on him to ensure he is fine and simply doesn’t blame or even hate her. It doesn’t help that she starts to respond to Hunter’s touch, even when she doesn’t want to. She doesn’t love him, but there is a slight attraction there. But after one dream and watching news, something breaks in her and she is trying to question Hunter’s resolve that she is THE ONE.

Hunter, he is one sexy guy, but for me he is just too convinced that Mary Anne is his girl from the dreams and is meant for him. He is not really trying to see the real her. Until one night when she whispers not his, but Gage name. After that he is even more possessive, but also in a way cold towards her. He is set that she is the destined one and she is the one that will help him stop the hunt.

After one night, where Mary Anne and Hunter have a date that does not end well and Gage looses his temper. And let’s just say Levi and Allie show up 😀 But after that all hell’s break through and Mary Anne and Gage have to run and hide.

The book is amazing. Much better then the first one! And first one was really good. I can’t wait for the next part and see where this will lead!

Breaking Even by C.M. Owens (The Sterling Shores Series, book 5)

She DID IT AGAIN! I just freaking love this woman. Again she released the book earlier and and it was AMAZING! Like, duh… of course it’s amazing!

I did a happy dance, when she announced early release and I was asleep when the book went live when I was sleep! How dare you Amazon!! And because I have a fever it took me longer to read <humph!>

But! let’s concentrate on the book…

Some blurb:

What happens when one neighbor pisses off the other? They end up in a brutal prank war, of course. But neither of them expects what happens when they can’t break even.

Rye Clanton

I told myself a long time ago that I wouldn’t—couldn’t—fall in love. I’ve seen what happens, the things they don’t tell you in fairytales. But I never saw Brin Waters coming until she had thoroughly invaded my life. Until her, I never laughed, joked, or even knew how to have a good time. Until her, I just existed. If my secrets weren’t so dark… But they are.

Brin Waters

How the hell do you go from hating someone to loving them? I don’t know, but Rye Clanton is good at it. However, he’s a walking contradiction that I can’t figure out, an enigma that has stumped me more times than I can count. But he’s the first person that’s ever made me feel alive—free. How do you give something like that up? Is loving him worth the risk of being destroyed?

The book is seriously funny and hot. From the previous books I didn’t have great opinion of Rye, but after that I adore him. Before I had as one hell of a prick, who just like to use women (wait, aren’t they all like that at some point?!). But! He is fun and loves jokes :] especially pranks, on Brin, who is not better and really likes to get even. Especially with him.

The book is told from 2 POV (as almost all books in the series -except Raya’s and Kade’s story, where there are separate books for each of them – did I mention that I love them?). First we meet Brin, who is getting ready to go to work like always, when she sees that her annoying neighbour has parked on their parking side AGAIN. But this morning something just breaks in her. All her life, her past and this little issue makes her snap and so the war between her and Rye begins. As their friendship, which after few weeks (and many jokes, pranks…) turns into something more.

When we meet Rye, I was like: “Nuh-uh, I don’t like him”. But after each sentences, I grew on him and I started to adore him. I started to see that there is something there. He was struggling with something, and not many people new what it was. After I got to know the real Rye, I was broken. And sick. I really hate when someone past is dark and going back to their childhood. I cried with him, when he told his story to Brin.

I think this story is the darkest one in the whole series. They all have their own past and problems, but Rye’s just leaves you broker. Like shattered. And it doesn’t help that Brin didn’t have best life either.

But what I loved the most? The fun they had. And how Rye wanted to win her over? With pranks again? That cracked me up!

The book is so worth reading! Kade and Raya are still winning, with Kode and Tria behind them. But I have to say: I love what Tag did! hahahah poor Ash! But then, all the people who she is trying to matchmake are I think in worse position, as lovely as she is, she is a horrible matchmaker! Hahahah

And another thing that made say several times: WTF?! Was Wren in the story and now I just CAN’T wait for A Redo!! Especially after reading the first chapter <smirk>

The book is not really a standalone and besides all the books are worth reading!

Review of “You and Everything After” by Ginger Scott (Falling Series, book 2)

This is the second part I have received as a gift from the author. And again I was not asked for a review, so it is as honest as it can be.

After reading this book I am torn. I love Nate, but Ty is so seriously hot, that I love him also. The books is told from POV of 2 main characters: Ty and Cass, who we have met in the first book. Ty, brother and best friend of Nate. I just adore their relationship. Of course, Ty, as an older brother, has to make his little brother’s life a bit like hell. Their bickering is just amazing. Ty, is an honest and really down to earth person. From the first part I thought he is the most positive person, especially in the situation he is in. The life for him is not easy and after seeing things from his POV, it broke my heart. I started crying after reading the first 5 pages. The accident, that happened 6 years ago, destroyed all his dreams, but he has not gave up and he decided to live. Live a normal life, just without love. Until he meets Cass.

The second main character, Cass, is a freshman in a college, far away from home, where even though parents loved her, they did not believe her. Normally, people think, than when there are twins, they have to by really close. But not for Cass. Her twin sister, Paige, is far for being close and far for being the one that she can trust. After going to college she wanted to leave her High School life, her reputation and be far away from her parents. She wanted to have a normal love life. Until she meets Ty. From the beginning something just sparks between them.

What I love the most in this book is how they both show their ugly sides as the lovely ones. It’s not a pretty love story, where they meet and fell in love. There is ugliness, past that is just putting a shadow and also the problems with parents.

It’s a must read. You will seriously fall in love with Ty, especially after his conversation with Cass’s father. I cried.

Now I can’t wait for the next part featuring Paige’s story. I am sure there is more to her, then her popularity craving.

Review of This Is Falling by Ginger Scott (Falling Series, Book 1)

I have won this book and second part in one of Give-aways on Author’s FB page, but the review is purely honest. I was not asked for it.

So, like WOW! A huge WOW. I have finished reading it like maybe 10 minutes ago and I just decided that I have to do the review like NOW. (It’s part of my New Year’s resolution: read a book – do the review within 24 hours…). I liked Ginger’s website, but I haven’t really read any of her books and to be honest: I forgot that I took part in this giveaway, so imagine my shock yesterday when I got a notification that I have won it. Amazing way to finish the 2014! I haven’t started reading it straight away as I decided that I want to read it as my first 2015 book. And man, what a brilliant decision it was. The book is simply amazing. I love Nate and Rowe (I love him more though).

The book tells us a story from 2 POVs: Rowe’s and Nate’s. At the beginning we meet Rowe, when she is being dropped off by her parents at college. Miles and Miles away from home. But she doesn’t have the nervousness of teenager starting college. There is something more, much more. She is closed, shy and …. terrified. For a very long time we don’t know why. I seriously thought that it’s like a weird love triangle where her ex-boyfriend hooked up with her best friend. How wrong I was!

And then we meet Nate. A popular baseball catcher playing for the college team. And hoping to go professional. They meeting in the hall got me thinking: year normal jock. Fun, handsome, fit and most likely overly confident. I was sceptical. But I still kept reading. And then we have his POV and I started falling. Hard. I think I loved him before Rowe, so it makes him mine, right? But on a serious note, there is so much more to him. His relationship with his brother is just amazing. I adore those to and I am kind of jealous that me and my siblings are not even near it.

I love how Ginger build their love. From friendship to being together. I loved how Nate’s most important concern was to help Rowe. Of course, he wanted her to love him, but how he cared about her made my heart melt every single time. I cried at the end of the book, when Nate told her the truth. I was sobbing so hard, my husband thought there is seriously something wrong with me.

Beautiful book. And I am so glad it was my first read for the year. And now I am off to read second part.

Small blurb from the book:

First, I had to remember how to breathe. Then, I had to learn how to survive. Two years, three months and sixteen days had passed since I was the Rowe Stanton from before, since tragedy stole my youth and my heart went along with it.

When I left for college, I put a thousand miles between my future and my past. I’d made a choice—I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn’t know how.

And then I met Nate Preeter.

An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn’t supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn’t want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn’t.

My heart was dead, and I was never supposed to belong to anyone. But Nate Preeter had me feeling, and he made me want to be his. He showed me everything I was missing.

And then he showed me how to fall.

*This is a standalone in a three-part series that will focus on different characters. Each book can be read on its own.

Review of Runes by Ednah Walters (Runes series Book 1)

I have read this book months ago, but due to lack of time, laziness and other personal things going on I didn’t write a review straight away. So I had to reread the book again. Seriously, it was like 4th or even 5th time. And I will re-read it again in few weeks as next part is to be released!! YAY!!

I have bought this book by mistake (damn, brilliant one-click on Amazon! – I ❤ to be bits LOL). Normally, I would be like – panicking and clicking cancel, please! but with this book I was like: aaahhh whatever! Besides the cover is so pretty!

Small blurb:

Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbour with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.

Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgement, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.

Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about Torin. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only are she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life

My thoughts:

I simply loved this book.

In the story we have quite few characters, but the main two are: Raine and Torin (yum). Raine is a typical seventeen year old teenager, she loves to read, have a crazy best friend and has a crush on her childhood friend, Eirik. She is determined to take their relationship further, but then hot, bad-ass guy moves next door. And everything changes from the first meeting which was just hilarious! Torin is cocky and in most situation he is a smart ass that loves to put Raine in awkward (nice awkward!) situations.

But of course dealing with teenager’s hormones is not enough to complicate Raine’s life. In addition her dad has been missing for few months, her mum because of that is acting strange and also the new guy (that makes her blood boil with anger and emotions that she has not yet felt) with his new friends are behaving a bit strange.

One jealous girls, that is convinced that Raine is trying to steal her boyfriend, changes everything with her obsession. And after that the whole life of Raine, Torin, Eirik and their friends just changes and they are thrown in the middle, where a normal human should not be part of. And now Raine is responsible of keeping her family and friends safe.

It’s a brilliant read. I never was a big fan of Norse mythology (thank you my ex), but thanks to Ednah it has changed and I just love her writing. Is easy and her books show so much emotions!

Loving War by C.M. Owens (Sterling Shores book 4)

It’s here!! Basically when brilliant C.M. Owens told the readers on Thursday that she will be releasing it earlier I was jumping in joy! I was so waiting for this part! I just love this series! I was so glad that once I finished my work on Friday the book was there. My husband after seeing me and my eyes, just sighed and said: “Take away today?” God I love him hahaha.

So after I got home around 5ish I was stalking Amazon (I was doing it at work, but sshh) to make sure I will not miss it! And around 6ish the book was there! On my kindle! Oh my, I was gone for the world!

Small blurb:

Tria Noles and Kode Sterling are a match made in hell, and no one will deny that.

They’ve hated each other for years. Kode is the jerk who doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Tria hides under a cold façade to appear strong and confident. There’s no possible way they could be anything together besides a volatile disaster.

But when their chemistry overrides their logic, they have no choice but to face their twisted attraction to each other. When that attraction refuses to fade, what started off as physical turns into something neither of them expected—or wanted.

Tria has spent most of her life living in her sister’s shadow, and it’s no secret that Kode was once one of the many who adored Rain Noles. It’s hard for her not to keep her guard up, because she doesn’t want to feel overlooked once again.

Kode starts to realize he might have been chasing the wrong Noles girl all these years. And there’s a lot he did wrong in the past when chasing Rain that could jeopardize any future he has with Tria.

There’s a thin line between love and hate, but which side do they stand on when all the secrets are aired?

My thoughts:

I freaking love this book! The beginning left me panting and I had to wait few minutes until I moved to next one! I got my coffee, cookies and was considering to have my hubby near me just in case 😉 The book is full of sexiness, badness and love!

The story tells us the relationship between Tria and Kode – enemies for almost 11 years after their meeting in a club, where both hoped to just run away from their city where no one knows them. They hated each other, but they couldn’t deny the lust they felt towards each other. After one eventful night they decided to be not friends and not enemies with benefits, but purely people with benefits. The whole relationship with no string attached was working perfectly for them, until Tria is attacked again by her ex-boyfriend and Kode feels protective. After that everything changes. Their feelings, the status and how they treat each other. Kode is no longer and ass**** towards Tria and she certainly is not an Ice Queen! After few heartbreaking scenes they decided to make it official, even though they knew what other people will think.

I love Kode’s determination when the truth about him, Rain and Dane comes to light. he fights for Tria and their love. But what I love more? Their way of dealing with the break-up hahaha that was hilarious! The book will make you laugh, cry, laugh again, cry so much more. Loved it!

And what’s more: Kade and Raya are again making an appearance ❤  God, I love that couple!

It’s a must read! If you have not read the previous part it can be hard to follow the story!

Enjoy the reading!

Reviews of books that I love.
