Synopsis

Ellis Hughes has loved the girl next door since he was ten-years-old. She was his sun, moon, and every visible star in a clear night sky. She was also his biggest regret.

When a terrible accident rips Ellis and Harlow apart, it shatters both their hearts beyond repair. More than a decade later, Ellis has paid his penance, but his regret still lingers, and the love he once harbored for his childhood sweetheart has never faded.

What Ellis believes has been destroyed forever, slowly comes back to life, only for a cruel twist of fate to intervene. Knowing he cannot live his life without Harlow in it, he faces the ultimate test of selflessness.

He must sacrifice his own heart to mend hers.

About the Author

I’m a little neurotic; I function on a tiny amount of sleep, and a huge amount of caffeine. I love old movies, green skittles, and have a slightly strange, and irrational fear of stormy weather.

When I’m not locked away scribbling down the crazy stories that occupy my mind, I can be found at home in East Yorkshire with my husband and two children.

I’m unashamedly fickle and can be persuaded to do just about anything with the promise of a good book, new shoes, or a bottle of bubbles.

Oh, and did I mention I also love to write?

REVIEW:

There is not enough words to describe how I felt reading this book. In any language. It simply took my breath away. Ms Brooks has a way with her words that always leaves me speechless. And this book was no different. No. It was so much more.

In here we meet Ellis and Harlow. Best friends. Best couple. Best everything. Nothing could keep them apart. Nothing and no one.

Both of them are so hard not to love. You simply can’t hate them. It’s impossible.

I knew Elle will not create a normal drama where there is a bad breakup because of misunderstanding or because they are off to college. No. She has to take your heart squish it slowly and then put into a mincer. When your heart is nothing but pieces, she is slowly picking all the pieces and expertly mending them together.

There is not enough stars to rate this book. It’s simply a masterpiece that lands as first on my reading list for this year. It will be hard to move it from its spot.

5 beautiful stars.

Thank you for writing it. Thank you for giving us Harlow and Ellis.

ARC Review: Teacher by Heather Dahlgren and Ella Emerson

It’s Live!! Teacher by Heather Dahlgren and Ella Emerson

18+, Not suitable for persons under the age of 18. STRONG SEXUAL CONTENT, MATURE CONTENT, and STRONG LANGUAGE.

Exclusive Excerpt:

The fire I’d been trying to contain exploded. I pushed her against the wall and as her books fell to the ground, I slammed my mouth to hers. It was rough, demanding, all-consuming and when I got a taste of her again, I knew I couldn’t stop this time. She had no idea what she did to me, and I was about to show her.
I pinned her hands above her head as we continued this angry kiss. A kiss that made my cock rock hard and begging for release. When she moaned I broke the kiss and searched her eyes. “Nothing happened with me and Brandi this weekend. Nothing could happen because I don’t want replacement pussy, I want yours.”
She gasped, and I pressed my lips to hers again. Still holding her hands above her head with one hand, I trailed the other down her body until I reached the bottom of her skirt.
I pushed my hand under and rubbed small circles on her thigh. She thrashed beneath me, which turned me on even more. Slowly moving my hand, I cupped her pussy over her panties and she let out a yell that I kept quiet with my mouth. I rubbed her softly, feeling the heat and wetness through her panties. Feeling my way to the top of them, I reached my hand inside and was met with the softest, smoothest, wettest pussy I’d ever felt. I broke the kiss once again and nipped her bottom lip. “Fuck, your pussy is dripping with need. The idea that I made you this wet is so fucking hot.”
“Oh, Levi, please,” she begged and not one to disappoint I slammed a finger into her incredibly tight pussy.
“Fuck!”
“If you can’t be quiet, I will stop. Do not draw attention to this room,” I demanded, and like a good girl she listened. I worked my finger in and out of her as I buried my face into her neck. “Are you a virgin? You’re so fucking tight?”
“No,” she moaned out, and I knew I needed to give her the release her body needed so badly.
I added another finger and watched her beautiful face as she bit her lip to stay quiet. As I finger fucked her, I couldn’t help but look at the way her face flushed and her tits bounced. I was about to bust a nut from this alone, and I knew in the moment that I couldn’t just let her go.
Picking up my pace, listening to her soft moans, I reached my thumb up and rubbed her clit. Like a tsunami wave, her orgasm crashed over her hard and fast. I slammed my mouth to her to be sure she kept quiet while she rode this wave.
When I felt her body begin to shake, I pulled back, with my fingers still inside of her and searched her face. “This is how I feel about you. Understood?”

REVIEW:

Heather and Ella have done it again. She has captured interest with this story that I basically stopped only because I have to eat, sleep and go to work. But if I could I would just read it within few hours. My husband had to literally hide my e reader so I would go to bed.

The ladies have created the story and match their writing so perfectly that I was not able to tell the difference between their writing. And it’s really hard to do! So well done ladies here! Marvelous job!

But the story… I love a good love story. And if it’s hot, seamy and with sexy time it’s even better. For me a good relationship is compatible at all grounds. And sexy time has to be exact that: Sexy. And in here the scenes are just WOW. When I read them I wanted to jump my husband and basically make him if he refused to satisfy me.

In here we meet Levi and Trish. A teacher and a student. But what I like that the story is not starting at school. It starts with an accident and Levi plays the hero 😉 I liked him straight away. He was confident, handsome and hot. But also he was intelligent. Which I really do like in guys 😉 Trish is a Senior in High School and after her previous relationship she is not willing to trust guys. Simply she respects herself way too much. With Levi it’s different. Even though she is not dating she agreed to go on a date with him without hesitation. And Levi….Levi couldn’t help himself. What was their surprise when they meet not long after making plans…at school…as a teacher and student. Levi wanted to do the right thing and simply end the attraction but it was too strong. The pull between them was something that they both could not ignore.

I liked the story, even though at some parts it felt rushed and without much insight. Especially at the end. I missed the real drama. And I was a bit angry with Trish that she has not really defend Levi and said something about Mark being jealous. I was a bit disappointed here. But I really liked the real reason why Levi started to teach. It was different.

4 stars from me 🙂

Aubrey Tanner is married to her work. With her recent separation from long-time boyfriend and the town’s most eligible bachelor, she definitely isn’t looking for love. You can’t see it, but it takes your breath away.

Tate Manning travels where the leads take him, like a tourist town with a bakery full of sugary concoctions, the sweetest of which is the owner. In the right place, he pulls her out of harm’s way, allowing him to see through the town’s sleepy veneer to the crime running beneath the surface. Worse, Aubrey is unknowingly in the center of it all, and he can’t bear another innocent to be lost on his watch.

In that moment, love changes everything.

Neither Aubrey nor Tate expects the temptation the other brings nor the complications. Blurb

Mirror, mirror … who’s the fairest of them all?

I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn’t grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all ‘mean girls.’

And those mean girls were right – it was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world – and I knew the answer would never be me.

The women with long legs, flat stomachs, and perfect chests.

The type of women Kane Masters gravitated toward.

Well, that’s definitely not Willow Tate.

No. That will never be me.

Because I’m completely imperfect.

And … I hate myself.

I have no idea what Kane could possibly see in someone like me when he could have them.

 My thoughts:

ARC provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review.

It was my first book by Harper. And I ultimately LOVED IT. The first chapter made me cry, second made me mad and by the end of the book I was a raging, sobbing lunatic that was happy about the ending.

In here we meet Willow. Young woman who is struggling with her weight, appearance, behaviour and to be honest? Everything. She was not able to see herself in a positive way. Everything about her for her was wrong. So very wrong she decided to change it. But where normally a change is good I think it made her even more cautious about herself. But what drew me in the most? Her kindness. Harper has pictured her as kind and sweet person, but not stupid. And that’s what made it so amazing. I can’t stand sweet and stupid woman. And because of that I would bet most of women could find a bit of themselves in Willow. And when she meets Kane? OMG. The Sparks are just flying. You can feel the attraction and that SOMETHING.

Kane. God. Sexy and handsome actor that is tired of the Hollywood drama and expectations. What he wants is a woman with curves and actual intelligence. And not only a pretty face. When he meets Willows he is sure he has found that something. But as all famous people he has his own secrets and issues. But he is desperate to overcome all of them so he can be with the woman of his dreams.

Harper has touched really sensitive subjects here and she has done it perfectly. Her story line is flawless and characters are amazingly well developed.

5 heavenly stars from me! ❤️

About the Author

harper sloan

Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed ‘Estrogen Ocean’, much to her husband’s chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero–the super alpha kind!

Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn’t take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.

A tingling sensation began
at the back of my neck and moved to encompass my entire scalp, culminating in a
ringing in my ears as I turned to see a very tall, very handsome man, about
thirty years old, standing over me, smiling.  He had a dark mop of
hair, somewhere between dark brown and black (I wasn’t sure which, but would
have been thrilled to get up close and personal, running my fingers through it
to make a well-informed determination).  He had thickly lashed blue
eyes, the kind that seem to glow when the light hit them just right, just as
they were doing at that moment.  He also had those high cheekbones
that all demi-gods have, and full sensuous lips I imagined would have been at
home on just about any inch of my skin, surrounded by just the right amount of
scruff.  He also had what my mom would have called a Pepsodent smile,
probably the product of years of orthodontic work (which, somewhere in the back
of my mind, I felt was reassuring; perhaps he wasn’t actually born completely
perfect).
All that was missing from the picture was a halo,
a sunbeam and a pair of white wings.  Perhaps also a bare, oiled
chest and a white drapey covering over his hips, but who was I to be so choosy
when I already had this Adonis speaking to me.  Being the extremely
cool and confident young woman I was, I’m sure I gave him a slightly deranged
looking smile in response.

“Uhhh…. leaving home, actually.  Short
trip to New York.  Going to visit an old childhood friend,” I said
with all the wit and brilliance of a canned ham.  Undaunted by my own
awkwardness I blundered forward.  “How about you?  Leaving
L.A. after working on your tan?” I said with what I hoped was a saucy wink, but
probably looked more like a nervous tic.

He laughed outright (to my great relief) and
shook his head.  “Nope.  I’m leaving home just like
you.  I’m also headed to New York.”  The line inched ahead
again, and we moved forward with it.

“Wow, that’s a coincidence,” I said. “Business or
pleasure?”  That sounded like a fairly normal question a fairly
normal person would ask, I told myself.  I cleared my throat and
stood a little straighter, hoping it wasn’t too late to salvage my image.

“It’s a business trip, but I’ll be there a couple
of weeks so I’m hoping to fit in some fun while I’m there.”  His eyes
lit up a little.  “I love the city, you know?  If it were
all work… well that would just suck.  I want to do it all, take in
the sights, see the shows, eat the food, and watch the people…”  He
looked at me sheepishly.  “I suppose that’s expecting a little too
much for a work trip though. They’re paying me to actually get a job
done.”

“They must be some crazy bastards to bring you to
a place like that then expecting you to work around the clock for two weeks
straight, resisting the temptations of New York.  What nerve.”  I
said, shaking my head in mock disgust.

“It could be worse, I guess.  They
could be sending me somewhere in Kansas.”

“Ah, but then you could visit the world’s biggest
ball of twine.”  I offered earnestly.

He looked at me skeptically.  “I’m
think I’m afraid to ask how you know that.”

“Sadly, I’m filled with a million useless
facts.  The good news is I’m a great partner for Trivial Pursuit.”

“I didn’t know that game was played with a
partner,” he said.

“Err…well that’s usually the only way anyone
will play with me,”  I said looking at my feet.

He laughed silently for a moment, one hand
pressed against his mid-section, which appeared to be extremely taut beneath
his tight black t-shirt.  Although it was probably a very bad idea,
given my already embarrassingly strong physical attraction to the man, I took a
moment to look over his lean physique.  His shoulders were broad and
muscular and his pectorals were clearly defined beneath the cotton clinging to
his form.  His chest tapered to a trim waist, and his faded denim
jeans were slung low on his hips.  A pair of scuffed black boots
completed his look.  I wondered what he really did for a living,
because all he needed was a leather jacket, and I could easily imagine him on a
motorcycle riding from town to town doing odd jobs for pocket money.

I am a native Angeleno,
specifically an original valley girl.  (Cue Frank Zappa music).  I am
a self-professed bibliophile, with a Kindle library larger than Imelda Marcos’
closet.  I have also been writing since I was old enough to form letters
when someone shoved a crayon into my tiny little fist as a toddler.  Those
letters eventually became sentences, and those sentences eventually turned into
stories.  It took a long time before I was able to turn those stories into
something I felt was worthy of sharing with the world, but finally here we
are.  I hope that you agree.
As for the rest of me, I’m a 40-something (no, I’m not going to tell you how
many somethings follow the 40) mother of three who has been married to my
husband for 14 years.  We live in a small enclave just north of Los
Angeles with my aunt, Nickii Fowler, who is also an author.  (Check out
her work! https://nickiifowler.weebly.com).

Shattered Perfection is my debut novel. The original draft was written over a
three week period in October/November 2014.  It “marinated” on
my hard drive until February 2015, when a good friend and fellow author, Nick
Marsh, begged to read it.  I was completely against the idea, but being
the persuasive and amazingly handsome fellow he is, he was impossible to
resist.  (He paid me to say that last part).

After far less rewriting and editing than I imagined would be necessary, I am
now able to share with you a story that I hope will make you laugh, cry and
ultimately feel as though you have loved right along with Mimi and Vance.

AE WatsonAuthor Bio:
I am the mother of two beautiful girls who are growing up so fast, the wife of a cute guy in a uniform (my own personal hero), and a writer.

My family will tell you it doesn’t exactly fall into that order. Especially around dinner time when I “Cook” from a takeout menu with my face plastered to my computer.
I also have two cats who I adore more than I should, like more than people I know, and a dog. He is a beagle who is naughty but just so darned cute. He gives you that little beagle face and then steals your slice of pizza.
I have a busy mind and even busier fingers. I can write fast and keep track of a large cast, but I can’t remember why I’m at the grocery store. I try to write lists but they always end up being notes for books or indie bands. I LOVE INDIE MUSIC!
I talk to myself in the car and sing too loud for my skill level. The invention of Bluetooth has made talking in the car less awkward but if you hear me singing, run.
I love writing. I love my characters like they are my friends and I am telling their version of the truth.
My worst flaw is the horrid English accent which I read everything with. If I read aloud it comes too. I’m not English, so I can’t even do the accent which makes it awkward for anyone who is nearby.
My favourite authors are Robert Jordan and Jane Austen and Robert Mccammon and Jim Crace. I think Stephen King and Dean Koontz have the most unique imaginations. I have the hardest time not LOVING Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger. I know all the serial killers have a copy but I adored that novel. It made me feel a thousand different things and one of them was more alive. (And not in the least bit serial killer-ish)
When I grow up I want to be James Patterson or Nora Roberts. I aspire to be like them, always trying to hone my skills and work harder.
My genres are all over the map. I have Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Romance, Science Fiction, Erotica (under Sophie Starr my porn name so my mom doesn’t know), Thrillers, and even some Romantic Comedies.

If you would like to reach me for whatever reason, please visit me at my facebook page –facebook.com/TaraBrownAuthor. You can also email me at tarabrownauthor@hotmail.com

Thanks for checking me out and I hope you got lost in something I wrote or it made you so HAPPY/SAD/BLISSFUL/TURNED ON/ANGRY/EXCITED/FRIGHTENED/HORRIFIED/MAD that you couldn’t believe it.

The list of what is coming out this year is not completed. I will keep my Facebook page as up to date as I can.
Here is a short breakdown of my genres and pen names.

TARA BROWN- My main page and essentially my brand. Books published under Tara Brown will be adult and mostly suspense and romance. The Lonely and Single Lady Spy Series are among those. Not intended for young readers, at all. 18 and over.

AE WATSON – My pen name for Young Adult books. Born, HERE, The Seventh Day, White Girl Problems, etc. This is my page that is safe for YA readers of a mature reading level.

ERIN LEIGH – Adult Romance and Chick Lit. 18 and over recommended reading level.

TL BROWN – Adult Paranormal, Science Fiction, and Fantasy. NOT FOR YOUNG READERS AT ALL!!

SOPHIE STARR – Adult Only Erotica. NOT FOR YOUNG READERS AT ALL!!!!!!!!

Hope you have a great day and of course, happy reading! Remember to read at your comfort level. Not all books published by me, Tara Brown, are suited for everyone.

Excerpt:

Halloween Scream
October 31, 2015

Sierra

The noise of the creaking stairs, the ones I had just crept up, sounded like it echoed in my ears. Someone had followed us here.
“Jake,” I whispered, hoping he was messing around. If he was, I would be angry. I lifted one leg after the other and slipped my high heels off, holding them both so I could tiptoe through the half-constructed mansion without making noise.
Jake didn’t answer, but the footsteps had stopped from the moment I whispered.
The scary movie marathon we’d had before Rachel died flashed through my head, bringing ideas and memories with it. I tiptoed around the corner, brushing my Frankenstein’s bride dress on the rough edge where the unfinished walls met. The drywall scraped against me, making me wince as I hurried along the corridor to the back deck. Whoever was in the house with me was either moving silently too or they were standing still, listening.
Either way, I had a terrible feeling this wasn’t a game.
That meant one thing: Jake was injured or hiding.
And I was alone.
My heart raced, my eyes burned from not blinking—fearful I would miss something—and my mouth was as dry as a mouthful of popcorn.
The floor creaked.
I froze.
“Sierra,” someone whispered into the dark.
My skin crawled when I realized it wasn’t Jake. It wasn’t his whisper. I’d heard that enough times, always in the dark, to know it wasn’t him.
“Sierra, don’t be scared.” It sounded like something it couldn’t be, but I didn’t believe. I stayed perfectly still, waiting for the moment I needed to run to the back deck and jump down onto the sandy beach.
What had the girls in the horror movies done wrong? What could I avoid? My mind raced, remembering the runners always got caught. They always got stabbed. Usually in the back. The thought of it made my skin burn where I imagined the knife would slice.
The hiders always got caught. They were the ones breathing too loudly or hiding in stupid places.
“Sierra, I won’t hurt you if you come to me.”
I squeezed my eyes shut for half a second and waited for the answer, the right choice, to pop into my head.
A dog barked, making me jump and open my eyes. The sound was joined by the creaking of the floorboards again.
With gentle breaths and controlled movements I crept along the hallway, entering the spot where the kitchen or master bedroom would likely go. The house was freshly sealed with windows and doors, but it was still in the drywall stage with plywood floors.
The massive back deck was through the white French doors, facing the beach and open ocean. The moon offered light, enough to make shadows move with me.
I hurried to an alcove I assumed would one day be a nook for a breakfast bar or maybe the ensuite soaker tub. I pressed my back against the wall and stared at the bright white French doors. If I could make it to them, I was free.
If only I had my cell phone, I could call the police or Jake or Vincent. Someone would come and help me. Even Ashton might answer.
But that wasn’t an option. I scolded myself for my weakness in me and forced my focus to be on the doors. They were my answer. They were my hope.
As I exhaled and plotted my moment to run and everything I would do from that point on, the floor creaked in the hallway behind me.
It was now or never.
Live or die.
I took one more breath and pushed off from the wall…

Second Nature Teaser 1

My Thoughts:

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Well, I love every single book by Tara. Doesn’t matter under which alias she chooses to write. I love her paranormal, criminal, erotic. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Yes, I know I screamed. But I can’t help it.

The Second Nature is just as amazing as the first book. If not better. It takes off just right were the first book left and I love that. I don’t have to wait for my questions to be answered so it’s just AMAZING.

To avoid spoilers for people that have not read the first part I’m just going to say that the story is told from the POV of Lainey. She is giving us the full recap of all the situations the group finds themselves in. Where everyone seems to think that the stalker backed off, she gets more suspicious and start making maps of potential and knows moves of the killer (very Sherlock Holmes’ like! Me likes!). She and her friends find more and more clues, and in her way to find the answers she also finds love. Unexpected and totally not wanted.

With the race to save everyone she cares about she uncovers more and more lies. She is not sure who to trust as everyone is on her suspect list.

I can’t wait for the next book! Especially with this ending. It made my jaw to drop open. I think Tara is queen of twists and turns that no one expects!

AMAZING HEAVENLY FREAKING 5 STARS! ❤

Desert Hunt

(The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch)

Anna Lowe

Rae has

a secret — one she can’t let any wolf pack discover. But with an old enemy hot

on her heels, her options are running out. Taking off on the back of Zack’s

Harley seems like good idea at first, but when she lowers her defenses for the

captivating coyote shifter, she might just be risking it all.

The new she-wolf in town may be strictly off-limits, but Zack just can’t keep

away. When the thrill of the chase gets his blood pumping in more ways than

one, he’s ready to overstep every boundary and break every rule. Destiny says

she’s his — but the pack’s ruling alpha says she belongs to another.

A paranormal romance with adult content / 43,000 words.

Inspiration

for the story & characters of DESERT HUNT, the Prequel

to the Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch

I

actually wrote Desert Hunt, the prequel to the series, after writing

books 1, 2, and 3! The concept of a prequel was born when I had the opportunity

to participate in my very first boxed set called Masters of the Hunt, and took

that as my theme. It was also the perfect opportunity to show Ty and the pack

at a time when the younger generation (personified by Zack and Ty) was just

starting to push at the limits set by the overly traditional old alpha, old

Tyrone. Since Books 1, 2, and 3 hadn’t yet gone to press when I worked on this

story, I was able to work hints of Rae and Zack into each of those stories. Did

you catch them? Remember that early scene in Desert Blood, when Heather

wistfully watches couples at the dance? If you read closely, you’ll find that

Zack and Rae are two that strike her. These two make many more appearances

throughout the series, so keep your eyes open for them!

Zack has

so much depth, I just love him. He came to me bit by bit: first as a coyote,

then coyote-wolf mix, and finally as Ty’s best friend, the kid from the wrong

side of the tracks. Zack is one of the wounded hero-in-waiting types I love so

much, one of those rare people who is born into difficult circumstances yet overcomes

the odds. He’s a good man who gets his chance to shine despite many trials and

travails. I love how he ultimately wins the recognition of the entire pack and

even the grudging respect of the old alpha – but he would never have dared push

himself that far if it weren’t for Rae.

As a

kid, I was a huge fan of Robin Hood, and I couldn’t resist making Rae a skilled

archer. I love the idea of the balance of nature: how wolves are actually the

friends of their prey because they keep the herds strong. It didn’t take much

tinkering with that idea to fill out the rest of Rae’s character and give her a

mystical role as Mistress of the Hunt. I wanted a strong villain to add into

the mix, so along came Jed, Rae’s old nemesis from her days as a member of

North Ridge pack. Jed and Rae’s back story also helped this prequel tie in to

the rest of the series – specifically to Desert Fate (Book 3), in which Greer,

the evil alpha of North Ridge pack, is finally vanquished for good

by Kyle.

MY FAVORITE SCENE:

Rae and

Zack riding his Harley to the remote cabin to sit out the storm. I experienced

exactly that kind of desert storm myself (too bad I didn’t have a handsome

shapeshifter to see me through it!), and love how the tension in the air plays

off the tension between the two characters.

BIGGEST CHANGE FROM THE EARLIEST DRAFT OF THE STORY:

I played

with several variations of the hunter/guardian theme before I honed in on Zack

and Rae’s story. In one early version, I had Zack as the hunter and Rae as a

guardian type! Then I had Zack being sent to Nevada to bring Rae safely to Twin

Moon Ranch (and unwittingly, to bring her to be mated to Ty). That eventually

went by the wayside in favor of the hunting scene that appears in the final

version of the story now. It’s funny how a story plays out in your mind in

different variations until exactly the right one develops – and that’s exactly

how the story of Rae, mythical Mistress of the Hunt, came to be!

Today and Amazon bestselling author Anna Lowe is a middle school teacher who

loves dogs, sports, and travel – and letting those inspire her fiction. Once

upon a time, she was a long-distance triathlete and soccer player. Nowadays,

she finds her balance with yoga, writing, and family time with her husband and

young children.

Anna

started reading romance in spite of herself (because tomboys don’t read romance

– right? Wrong!) and has enjoyed reading and writing in the genre ever since.

Two of her favorite romance authors are Kristan Higgins (for sweet love

stories) and Rosalind James (for the combination of a New Zealand setting and

sports). She’s a fan of capable heroines like Rylee Adamson (by Shannon Mayer,

who mixes action, fantasy and romance). On any given weekend, you might find

her hiking in the mountains or hunched over her laptop, working on her latest

story. Either way, the day will end with a chunk of dark chocolate and a good

read.

My thoughts:

It was another enjoyable read from Mya. I liked the world and characters she created, and story engrossed me from the beginning.

In here we meet teenage Miranda, a sweet girl whose life was perfect until her parents divorce. After that her life changed. She was not able to coop with the changes and the fact that they were no longer a family. It get even more difficult after her father introduced her to his soon to be new wife. To escape the pain her mum has taken her and her friend to a place where they always came as a family. Miranda is spending there her fifteenth birthday. She was expecting another holidays with her mum. But everything changes once she meets Abby. A girl that is more than what is seems. She has ulterior motives towards Miranda.

This book shows you the difficulties of moving forward, of the clash of two different worlds. And power of understanding, that sometimes the difficulty and hurtful at the beginning decision, are the best ones to be truly happy.

Well deserved 4 stars.

Such a pretty boy.
Kip Klein has heard this for a
very long time. Apparently that was all he was ever good at anyway. His own
mother despised him for looking like his deceased father. It forced him from
his small hometown to the big city of Chicago.
Lights. Camera. Action.
Welcomed with open arms into the
career of modeling, Kip finds himself doing anything to keep his name and image
out there including showing off his assets for the ladies. Losing his edge, Kip
is sent home to Hawker Flats to rediscover just what made him rough. He
discovers much more than past memories.
The latest Summer fling.
Could her life get any harder?
Summer Sadler is orphaned, a guardian to her half-brother and working every
waking hour she can. On the verge of bankruptcy, she is duped and used for the
land that she owns. Was it too much to hope that the torture would end?
Just one more kiss.
Summer didn’t expect to collide
with Kip Klein, but collide she did. The rigid muscles and tantalizing voice
chase away all reason to keep her distance. Maybe one kiss will cure
everything. Maybe one kiss will destroy them both.
