About the Author

I’m a little neurotic; I function on a tiny amount of sleep, and a huge amount of caffeine. I love old movies, green skittles, and have a slightly strange, and irrational fear of stormy weather.

When I’m not locked away scribbling down the crazy stories that occupy my mind, I can be found at home in East Yorkshire with my husband and two children.

I’m unashamedly fickle and can be persuaded to do just about anything with the promise of a good book, new shoes, or a bottle of bubbles.

Oh, and did I mention I also love to write?

There is not enough words to describe how I felt reading this book. In any language. It simply took my breath away. Ms Brooks has a way with her words that always leaves me speechless. And this book was no different. No. It was so much more.

In here we meet Ellis and Harlow. Best friends. Best couple. Best everything. Nothing could keep them apart. Nothing and no one.

Both of them are so hard not to love. You simply can’t hate them. It’s impossible.

I knew Elle will not create a normal drama where there is a bad breakup because of misunderstanding or because they are off to college. No. She has to take your heart squish it slowly and then put into a mincer. When your heart is nothing but pieces, she is slowly picking all the pieces and expertly mending them together.

There is not enough stars to rate this book. It’s simply a masterpiece that lands as first on my reading list for this year. It will be hard to move it from its spot.

5 beautiful stars.

Thank you for writing it. Thank you for giving us Harlow and Ellis.

ARC review: Gravity by A. B. Bloom

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This story is so refreshing. So beautiful so different. It left me speechless and content at the end. I was like: yes. That was IT.
The story is about love, stars and not knowing how long you have left to live. The main character, Bronte, was always fragile and no one could figure out what is wrong with her. Until she met Nick. Caring, handsome and so not for her. She learnt what she was and because of that they tried, fought even to stay apart from each other. But as fate is a tricky thing – it always pushed them back together.
The buildup of their relationship and connection was beautifully done by Ms Bloom. I loved it.
The book totally deserves 5 heavenly stars.

The hunter just became the hunted. . .

Now, Evo is being hunted by his own kind, closely followed by a revenge-hungry demon. He is on the run, and Alethia is running with him. While passion ignites, and tension threatens to tear them apart, they discover that there is something far more sinister after Evo’s soul. As Alethia fights for him, she is forced to face an agonizing truth: to save him, she may have to lose him forever.

A story about new love and sacrifice, Evo is the first book in the Divine Hunter World series of books that focus on the much loved characters from the Divine Hunter series.

 My thoughts:

I have received an ARC of this amazing book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I started reading the book but then I realised that I have missed some story from the previous 2 books I have stopped and read the first 2 books, which by the way were also AMAZING. Even though you can easily follow the story without reading the first books, I think that you get a better insight into Evo and his personality. And besides they are awesome, so why not read them also?

I like Evo. I like him a lot. He is cocky, snarky and have that bad boy vibe but at the same time he is kind and loyal. During book 1 he was involved in Micheal fight and during this fight he is being imprisoned, and then rescued by Michael. But after his return he was different. Dark. Full of something that was growing inside of him.

L.J. did an amazing job with creating the story, the emotions and descriptions of the world. The characters are really well developed and I enjoyed them all.

5 heavenly stars from me ❤

About The Author

L.J. Sealey was born and raised in a little Welsh town by the sea. It rains a lot, so she often has a great excuse to sit at her writing desk and while away the hours at her laptop.
She still lives in N.Wales and when she’s not travelling around the country working with her husband – who is a professional singer – or singing backup vocals herself, she likes to read and watch her favourite TV shows which normally includes plenty of CSI, The Vampire Diaries and endless amounts of sitcoms.
Being addicted to reading about vampires, demons, shifters and angels, she has always had a thing for all things paranormal and is a big sucker for impossible love stories. So it was inevitable that when she started writing herself she would mix the two together.
L.J. Sealey is the author of the paranormal romance series Divine Hunter.

ARC Review: Blue Horizons by Kathryn Andrews

Title: Blue Horizons

Author: Kathryn Andrews

Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance

Published: October 19, 2015

Will Ashton

Music is my motivation. I’ve always believed that, because of it, I would be somebody. Somebody to someone, and something to myself.

At age four, I picked up my grandfather’s acoustic guitar and, up until three weeks ago, I’ve never put it down. From a single chord to a full arrangement, music fed my soul. I craved it with every fiber of my being, but now, I just don’t know. That driving force that’s always pushed me has somehow stalled, along with the thrill, the passion, and the familiarity . . . it’s all gone. I’m beginning to worry that my love for music just isn’t enough.

As the summer tour finally comes to an end, I head to the Blue Ridge Mountains instead of returning to Nashville. It’s here that I’ve always been able to lose myself amongst the solitude and the lake, but what I didn’t expect to find was her.

Wild blonde hair, light blue eyes, and a laugh I find myself trying to coax from her has me completely enamored. She’s quiet, incredibly poised, and driven by secrets as big as the mountains around us. They’re what’s made her untouchable, and left me wanting to know more.

Maybe that’s what I need. Maybe I need more. Maybe I need her.

Ava Layne

They say that life isn’t about how many breaths we take, but how many moments take our breath away. But what if those moments aren’t filled with happiness and love, but something dark and haunting? For me, it’s those moments that’ve shaped and taken over my life. I can’t change who I am, God knows I’ve tried, and, because of this, I’ve accepted the silver lining . . . I’m alive.

Fifty-two white keys, thirty-six black keys, ten fingers, seven notes, two friends, and one stage. At the piano, on the stage, with my two best friends, I finally found myself, and I live for those moments. One by one, I collect them, cherish them, patiently waiting for the next, until it arrives and changes everything. That’s the moment I meet him.

OVER TEN YEARS ago my husband and I were driving from Chicago to Tampa and somewhere in Kentucky I remember seeing a billboard that was all black with five white words, “I do, therefore I am!” I’m certain that it was a Nike ad, but for me I found this to be completely profound.

Take running for example. Most will say that a runner is someone who runs five days a week and runs under a ten minute mile pace. Well, I can tell you that I never run five days a week and on my best days my pace is an eleven minute mile. I have run quite a few half marathons and one full marathon. No matter what anyone says . . . I run, therefore I am a runner.

I’ve taken this same thought and applied it to so many areas of my life: cooking, gardening, quilting, and yes . . . writing.

I may not be culinary trained, but I love to cook and my family and friends loves to eat my food. I cook, therefore I am a chef!

My thumb is not black. I love to grow herbs, tomatoes, roses, and lavender. I garden, therefore I am a gardener!

I love beautiful fabrics and I can follow a pattern. My triangles may not line up perfectly . . . but who cares, my quilts are still beautiful when they are finished. I quilt, therefore I am a quilter.

I have been writing my entire life. It is my husband who finally said, “Who cares if people like your books or not? If you enjoy writing them and you love your stories…then write them.” He has always been my biggest fan and he was right. Being a writer has always been my dream and what I said I wanted to be when I grew up.

So, I’ve told you who I am and what I love to do . . . now I’m going to tell you the why.

I have two boys that are three years a part. My husband and I want to instill in them adventure, courage, and passion. We don’t expect them to be perfect at things, we just want them to try and do. It’s not about winning the race; it’s about showing up in the first place. We don’t want them to be discouraged by society stereotypes, we want them to embrace who they are and what they love. After all, we only get one life.

In the end, they won’t care how many books I actually sell . . . all that matters to them is that I said I was going to do it, I did it, and I have loved every minute of it.

Find something that you love and tell yourself, “I do, therefore I am.”

My Thoughts:

Copy gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review.

It was my first book by Kathryn. And I’m ashamed to admit that. I own all of her books but there is always something that is more important. But after reading this book, I couldn’t wait any longer and started to read her previous books. I want to kick myself that I have always pushed them away. But anyway… let’s concentrate on Blue Horizons.

In here we meet Will Ashton. A successful musician who appears to have everything. Money, fame and life he has chosen 10 years ago. But standing on the scene during he concert his thoughts are not full of pride and achievement. There is no adrenaline. No rush he used to feel while performing. There is only feeling of being lost. The only thing he can think of is to run away from there. Far away. Somewhere where no one will be able to find him and somewhere where he will be able to think. To find his path again. After he walks away after the concert we meet him again few months later in the only place he is able to find piece. Among the mountains, on the lake where he used to spend his time with his grandfather. What he did not expect was to find something that was missing. Or rather someone. He did not expect to meet Ava and simply fell for her. It was not in his plans, but once he met her and got to know her, he realized that she was the missing piece to make him happy.

Avery Layne is a troubled young woman. She has lived through something that no one should have. And this traumatic day has damaged and scarred her beyond anyone imaginations. Now she a timid, closed and afraid of simple touch. When I read her memory flashes, I cried, even though it’s not an ugly crier. Not at all. But I felt her pain, fear and her drive to be free from this haunting memories. And she found her hope in Ash. A mysterious guy who she met during her weekend at her friend’s parents house.

Kathryn has touched a really difficult topic here and what I liked the most is the fact that she didn’t concentrate only on this. On ho Ava was damaged. Hurt. Scared. But on how Will wanted to help her even though he didn’t know what has happened to her and what to do. He simply took his own personal experience and tried to help her as once he was helped by his foster parents.

Kathryn’s writing is flawless. She has amazing style that pulls you straight away. I have fallen in love with Will instantly. And I have fallen in love with Clay. His quiet best friend. Even though he is not appearing in the book as often as I would like, I loved him for his kindness and understanding he gave to Will, when he needed it.

Beautiful story that will make you laugh, cry and sigh every so often.

5 heavenly stars ❤

Cut off from the rest of the world and with no signs of rescue, fear and paranoia set in and battle lines are drawn, dividing their ranks. What is left the group must embark on a perilous journey to save one of their own and find their families…but, something sinister awaits them in the shadows and it’s undeniably connected to Liv.

Can Liv keep her promise to reunite with her brother? What are she and her friends willing to do to survive? Will their bravery and determination be enough to save them all from a rogue government, a terrifying virus, and the things that go bump in the night…Or was Icarus, indeed, The Killshot?

My review:

Once I started the book I wasn’t able to put it down. I was actually really mad at myself that I have not just started it earlier during the day but before the bed time. And I was mad at myself cause I had to stop and go to sleep. But next day I woke up and read it on my way to work, on my lunch, short breaks, on my way home, during cooking and before bed. At 45% I was really mad at myself that I haven’t read it earlier. But anyway…the book…

The first scene broke my heart. I hate when siblings are separated and I cried. Hard. I had to stop reading and make myself cup of tea. After the story got more and more interesting. I’m not saying that it was less emotional. Far from it. Liv is trying her hardest to keep her promise she gave to her little brother. And she is not aware that her final words: even if the sky is falling will come true.

The adventures she will face with her friends are amazing and makes you have so many adrenaline rushes that you will think you are part of them and you are facing the same danger they do.

I really enjoyed this story and I will read the next parts as I cannot wait to see what will happen next!

5 heavenly kickass stars!

My thoughts:

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I have enjoyed most of the stories. They are sexy and steamy. All and each one of them is written perfectly and pull the reader straight away into the story line. Sensual, seductive and extremely descriptive. I have enjoyed most of them, even though some are not my normal books I would pick by myself.

I’m not going to review all of the stories separately. I don’t want to pull the full anthology apart and I prefer treating it as a one hot book with different POVs.

Before I have received this compilation I have not read any books by the authors here. And to be honest I have not even heard of them, but since I have read it I have picked up some of the authors and downloaded their books to see what they are capable off with a full length story.

The anthology is good if you are looking for few different sexy stories.

4 stars from me as some of the stories were simply not for me.

My review:

ARC received for an honest review.

WOW! What an amazing compilation of amazing authors. I like anthologies as they show you different authors, different stories and different styles. But mostly I liked them because it shows that authors work hard for the readers to create an amazing piece of work. I really admire that.

I loved every single one of the stories included. I am a big fan of Cameo Renea, but not only her story was amazing. All of them were awesome.

They took their time and reecreated stories from our childhood and made them into dark, seductive and sexy stories. They had some twists that I have not expected and I have to admit that all of the authors involved put together all my favorite genres and it made the book even more interesting.

It was my first but not the only read of those stories.

Well deserved 5 heavenly stars! ❤

My thoughts:

It was another enjoyable read from Mya. I liked the world and characters she created, and story engrossed me from the beginning.

In here we meet teenage Miranda, a sweet girl whose life was perfect until her parents divorce. After that her life changed. She was not able to coop with the changes and the fact that they were no longer a family. It get even more difficult after her father introduced her to his soon to be new wife. To escape the pain her mum has taken her and her friend to a place where they always came as a family. Miranda is spending there her fifteenth birthday. She was expecting another holidays with her mum. But everything changes once she meets Abby. A girl that is more than what is seems. She has ulterior motives towards Miranda.

This book shows you the difficulties of moving forward, of the clash of two different worlds. And power of understanding, that sometimes the difficulty and hurtful at the beginning decision, are the best ones to be truly happy.

Well deserved 4 stars.

ARC review: Taming Lo by Melissa Toppen

I have received an ARC of this sexy book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.

Small Blurb:

I know they think they have me all figured out.
Hell, I thought I knew who I was too.
I’m Lo. Allure’s resident wild child.
Dancer at one of the most secretive and exclusive clubs in the country.
I’m not ashamed of who I am.
I like sex. Love it actually.
I get off on getting off and I am not afraid to go for what I want.

I don’t do boyfriends.
I don’t do commitment.
I don’t do the same man twice.
These are my rules.

The first time I laid eyes on Dax, I knew I had to have a taste.
Dax is exactly the type of man I usually go for.
Inked in tattoos, hot, sexy, dominant; just looking at him made me squirm.

He’s one of those easy, get in and get out, kind of hook-ups.

Or at least, that’s what I thought……

Taming Lo is a spinoff novel of The You and I Series. This book can be read as a standalone or as the fourth book in the series. You do not need to read the other three books to read this one

My thoughts:

It was my first book by Melissa and she was introduced to me by one of my bookie friends. I decided to take part in reading ARC and OH MY GOD! I’m so glad I did! I so one-clicked all her books!

I haven’t met Lo before and I loved her straight away. She is sexy, confident and she knows what she wants. Or rather what she doesn’t want. Complications. Boyfriends. Relationships. She doesn’t need it.

On the other side we have Dax. Handsome, sexy and having the same way of living like Lo. He doesn’t want love and relationship. He is comfortable with the way he is.

But when those two meet each other you can feel the sparks and lust straight away. They are both wild and so confident about what they want. And even though they try to convince themselves they are not falling for each other, it’s futile. The emotions they stir in each other causing them to get closer and closer.

I loved this book!

I can’t wait till I get to Melissa’s next book!

Ten days ago, someone threw a brick through my front window. Nine days ago, someone keyed my truck right in my driveway. Eight days ago, someone spray painted the words ‘stay away’ across my garage door. That one really pissed me off. The jerk didn’t even have the courtesy to tell me what the hell I need to stay away from.

Each day it’s something new, a new piece of my property vandalized, and I’ve had enough.

Wanting a security system, something with cameras so I can catch the vandal, I let my best friend hook me up with her cousin, a private investigator with the PRG Investigations team.

His name is Vance and I’ve secretly been in love with him for three years. He’s a badass, a little scary, incredibly hot, and he’s never showed an interest in me … until now.

My thoughts:

I love Ashley’s writing. She is just amazing. Her writing style is pulling you in straight away. The worlds she is creating are captivating. Characters are so real that you are falling in love with them from the first few sentences.

Play it Again is a second part in her PRG Investigations series and just like the first one, is just simply AMAZING.

In here we meet again Vance. One of the trio that in the previous book was more quiet than the other two. And we meet Piper. Quiet girl, who is a book covers designer. But even though she is trying to keep it to herself, be friendly to anyone, she is having some troubles. Someone is vandalizing her property and after almost 2 weeks that person is starting to scare her. So after her best friend arranges a meeting with her cousin and his friends, who are private investigators, her life is changed. And not because she suddenly met that handsome detective. No. She already knew him. She already fell for him. She liked him a bit more than others. But because feels the same and he will do anything to ensure she is safe.

Vance, God he is so hot, made sure that Piper is safe for few years now. At the beginning he was excusing himself for his affection towards her, with her being room-mate of his cousin. But during those few years his feelings got more serious and deep, but Piper has always had someone and always treated him with distance. He thought that it was because he wasn’t her type, but the truth was she was just shy. When his cousin described the troubles that Piper has, he didn’t miss a chance and made sure she is safe.

Vance and Piper are a perfect match. The chemistry, the sparks that are basically flying between them are just awesome. In this book you have drama, suspense, love, friendship and lots and lots of humour! That’s why I love this book so much!

The suspense of not knowing who the culprit is might this book even more delightful. The truth made my jaw drop.

Awesome, amazing fat 5 stars!

keep the coming Ashley! ❤
