Everything they thought they knew is about to change.

In Chaos We Reign, an all-consuming dark romance from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Amo Jones is out now!

I was the trick that they could never play.
She was the greatest game of all…

There was elegance that comes from being carved from the ashes of all the darkness that surrounds you in the world. You start as dust, and you end as dust. At least that’s what I always thought. Crowned Princess Mayhem all my life became old fast, and I found myself forging my iron crown with the blood of our enemies.

To The Brothers of Kiznitch, I was nothing but a little brat that always got my way. I was the sister none of them asked for, but they’d find themselves needing. He was no different. Loving Keaton Cicero was never going to be easy. There was evil within him that would never be accepted.

They thought their over-protectiveness had kept me safe all these years, but they were wrong. Everything they thought they knew, was about to burn around them. I wasn’t someone who needed protecting…

They were.

In Chaos We Reign can be read as a stand-alone, but it is recommended to read In Silence She Screams first to better understand some story points.

Chapter One
Cartier
Sixteen years old
I remember the first time I realized my brother was crazy. I was twelve years old, and I watched him rip the meat off a man’s bones after he kidnapped me and locked me in an abandoned house to play dress-up. The man was a stranger, and even though our family business was risky, it had no connection with Midnight Mayhem or Kiznitch. Yet my glorious brother tore him to pieces with his bare hands and didn’t blink once. Tonight is just like then, only worse. Worse because this is someone I know, and it’s someone who tried to hurt me.
Doors slam closed outside, and I stop pouring the cashmere pink bubbles into my bath. Reaching for my phone on the counter, I open Spotify and hit play on “OT” by Niykee Heaton before dipping my toe into the warm water. Bubbles spill onto the dark veined marble floors as I sink deeper beneath the water, closing my eyes in an attempt at scrubbing the night away. I don’t want Kyrin to hear me cry because I know it will only make him worse. I’ve handled this school since my parents dumped me in it when Kyrin threw a fit to keep me away from Mayhem, and I will continue to handle it when he goes back on the road. Right now, I need peace. I need to feel nothing. See nothing. Hear nothing. They say drowning is the most peaceful death, I can imagine why. After being suffocated from oxygen for minutes, you welcome the feeling of numbness. Like now. Void. Stuck between a realm of life and death, I could float and hold my breath until I simply… die.
A hand is around my throat, pulling me out of my haze and I swipe water from my face angrily when I resurface. “What the fuck!” As soon as my eyes open, they land on Keaton, one of the four Brothers of Kiznitch. He and my brother have been inseparable since they were born—they all are—but Keaton isn’t like the rest of them. He is simply… different.
My mouth closes as I take in his clothes. Blotches of blood litter his designer jeans, and when I finally look up at his face, I find mud and more blood all over his cheek and shirt. The Brothers of Kiznitch have all been my extended brothers, all of them except Keaton. He is nothing like a brother to me, and that’s largely because he has never treated me the same way the other Brothers have. He doesn’t seem pissed about my presence, but not that fond of it either. He has always just existed. For a long time anyway. But I don’t know if I’d call what we share a normal friendship. My stomach always twists anytime I catch him staring, and it’s become more frequent the older I get, but that doesn’t change the fact that we both fight. Fight probably more than any of the other brothers, Kyrin not included.
“What the fuck, Keaton?” I glare up at him while leaning back against the curve of the bath, flicking my toe against the faucet to turn the hot water back on.
I see him dip to a kneeling position out of the corner of my eye, when his fingers curl around my chin, forcing my face to his. I hold my breath when his eyes settle on mine. Keaton is the scariest of all The Brothers—to everyone but me. Darkness hovers over him everywhere he goes, and no matter what he does, he’ll never be rid of it. Torment swims beneath the surface of his god-like features, and it has always bothered me that I can never take it away. No one can.
“Was there anyone else involved?” His voice is low enough to be a warning. I find myself losing my train of thought when I trace the edges of his naturally swollen lips.
“No,” I whisper, only it comes out broken from the saliva forming in my throat.
He stands back to his full height and kicks off his boots, tugging his shirt over his head from the back and throwing it onto a pile in the corner.
“Keaton…” I warn. “If Kyrin—”
“—don’t really give a fuck right now, Tigger.” I close my eyes and lean against the edge of the bath, listening as the clink of his belt falls to the floor before a long stretch of silence drifts between us. Just when I think he’s not going to do what he’s going to do, I feel his leg brush mine as he lowers himself into the bath opposite me. Keaton and I have kept each other at a distance, and most of the time I think I’m imagining the things I do. The long stares, brushes of hands, lingering touches. We fight as hard as we clearly care about one another, but it has always been clear. The lines have never been blurred.
Until now.

FULL BLURB

What happens when an almost thirty-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction?

Lots of banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and heat.

Midfielder Maclay “Mac” Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when an adorably-freckled seamstress comes barreling into his life, he finds Netflix-And-Bickering with her to be his new favorite pastime.

Freya Cook is used to being the invisible woman with a needle and thread, offering cheeky punchlines as she helps dress London’s finest. She’s plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered.

However, after one innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya.

What neither of them see coming are the feelings that develop when the clothes come off.

Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don’t fall in love with your best friend.

⚽️⚽️⚽️

REVIEW:
Oh my oh my oh my.

What a story it was! Funny, heartwarming and totally engrossing the reader!

Freya and Mac are perfect friends to lovers couple. Their banter is not changing and you can totally connect to them through the story.

I won’t lie the narration helped a lot as the narrators were amazing with giving love to Amy’s words!

Amazing.

Having to attend my sister’s wedding with a pretend boyfriend had been bad enough, but when that fake date left me stranded an hour before the ceremony, I thought my life was over. No one wore disappointment as poorly as my mother, and I’d already given her a thousand reasons to wish I’d never been born.

Which was why, when a random stranger sat beside me at the bus stop, wearing a crisp suit and a winning smile as though God himself had heard my woeful prayers, I wasted no time in making a rushed deal with the devil:
A night of his time in exchange for money I didn’t have.

It sounded so simple. It sounded easy… if only cash had been what Fraser Scott wanted at the end of the night. A man like him, with his intense grey eyes, hard muscles, and obvious charm didn’t need his wallet filling. He didn’t need anything I was willing to offer freely.

By the time it was all over, what Fraser demanded, in fact, was me…

And it turned out that Fraser wasn’t the kind of man who walked away from a deal without coming out on top.

REVIEW

Oh wow. Where do I start? I am in huge huge book slump lately and I was worrying I won’t be able to finish the book on time but I did it and it was AMAZING. Vicki did not disappoint!

Fraser and Charlotte both captured my whole soul. They were just simply perfect. And the hot as hell sexy time? *insert fanning my face GIF* those definitively made me jealous.

Him. Her. Both delightful. He is handsome and irresistible like the best chocolate out there. I definitely wanted to claim him for myself many times.

But what I like the most (except the off charts chemistry) is the moments where the suspense was making me gasp and be in shock!

Definitely a must read of 2022!

Excerpt – Varsity Tiebreaker by Ginger Scott

Tory D’Angelo
I’m not sure if she realizes she’s trembling, but she is, so to stop her from digging any deeper in a place so public and so filled with the fumes of microwave pizza and Coke machines, I reach forward and rest my hand on top of hers. We both freeze immediately, and I’m pretty sure my palm is already sweating. Her gaze lifts to meet mine, but I don’t let go of her hand just yet. I don’t make this touch a big deal, even though it sort of is. That’s not why I did it, and I don’t want to cheapen it. With our eyes locked on one another, I let the air fill with the touch of silence just long enough for a ragged, emotional breath to fall from her lips.

“You have every right to feel the way you do,” I say.

“And how’s that?” she fires back. Her hand shifts under mine, but she doesn’t pull it away.

“You feel like your dad sees a business opportunity where he should see his daughter.”

She swallows and keeps her gaze on mine for a beat before finally leaning back, pulling her hand away and glancing off to her side. With a snort sniffle, she runs the sleeve of my brother’s hoodie across her eyes, erasing the tiny break that she let herself have.

I’m suddenly not hungry. I don’t think I have ever not been hungry, but I couldn’t eat the rest of my burrito now if I were forced at gunpoint. It’s not that I feel sick, but more that I feel…envious. I was fooling myself thinking that Abby was a passing crush I could dismiss easily. Two months of riding shotgun with her through all things June and Lucas was just long enough for me to get hooked on having her around. But while it’s my advice she’s listening to right now, it’s my brother’s fucking sweatshirt she’s dabbing her tears with.

“So, see you at the game?” I know my move to leave is abrupt, especially after she just bared part of her soul. If I stay, though, I’m going to say things I don’t mean just out of sheer self-preservation. This is precisely why I don’t do relationships, I just do flirting and hookups. Feelings…well, they fucking feel.

“What, did you change your mind and suddenly decide that nine-eighty bare-minimum wasn’t good enough?” Her nose wrinkles after her insult, but I think I get where it’s coming from. She just hit me with a major share, and now I’m bailing. Better to lash out. Her and I aren’t so different.

“Something like that,” I say, holding up my lunch trash as a wave goodbye.

Abby’s face shifts slightly, her wrinkled mouth and dimmed eyes morphing from the snarky expression that accompanies her tease to the look of a girl who just lost her brand new balloon to the sky.

“That hoodie…” I say as I walk backward, pointing toward the center of her chest. “Looks good on you.” I leave things there with a tight-lipped smile and a nod, a truce of sorts, not that Abby even knew we were in a battle. Hell, we weren’t. I’m the only one in a conflict, and it’s with my own damn self.

I manage to turn my back to her and toss my trash out without pausing to get one more little jab in to fully take things back to our version of normal. I think for now, I’d like to leave things nice. I wasn’t counting on her wanting to leave things that way, too, though.

“I’ll be sure to cheer for you, even if I’m wearing Hayden’s number,” she shouts.

I spin on my feet and give her a thumbs up, but keep moving away from her because if I turn around, I’ll keep trying to win her over. And she’s not mine to be won.

Varsity Tiebreaker
Book 2 in The Varsity Series by Ginger Scott

Abby Cortez is a girl with goals, on the verge of turning eighteen and on the brink of stardom. Falling in love isn’t just something she doesn’t have time for, it’s something she doesn’t really believe in. Her rule? Date but never, ever fall.

Tory “Salvatore” D’Angelo loves falling in love…just not for real. The star basketball player at Allensville Public High gives his heart away one girl at a time then takes it back when he’s ready to move on. No serious feelings, no serious pain.

They’re both good plans until Abby’s jaded heart gets all tangled up with Tory’s hopeless one. A friendly rivalry grows into friendship, and long talks start to blur the lines.
Just one problem—Abby’s current boyfriend is Tory’s twin brother, Hayden.

ARC Review: If We Were Young by Anna Bloom

Beautifully written story with humour, second chances and characters that you fall in love with.

Ronnie. God I feel for her. Everyone has anxiety of some sorts. But to have a severe anxiety and also have a teenager at home. It’s hard and I wouldn’t wish it anyone. But I liked the most is that the problems were real. Not over the top. Simply real and so relatable.

Ronnie’s daughter made me laugh so many times. It was a nice break in her mother’s hard life.

And there is of course a man. Matthew. Gah I like him and I want to keep him. But it was not easy for him and Ronnie. Not after 15 years when they are practically forced to work together.

This books is a must read for 2020.

Thank you for letting me be part of the review team.

Waking Up In Vegas is LIVE!!!

Waking Up In Vegas is LIVE!!!
Natasha Preston’s highly anticipated new release Waking Up In Vegas, is out now to purchase on all platforms and in paperback!
Waking Up In Vegas is a contemporary romance, and book one in The One Series. Each book in the series will follow a different couple.
There are bad hangovers, then there’s waking up married to your brother’s idiot friend.
On the trip of a lifetime, a drunken Wren and intoxicated Brody stumble upon a wedding ceremony and decide to tag along for the ride. But being spectators isn’t quite wild enough when you’ve got tequila in your toes, and before either of them can stop what they’re about to do, “We now pronounce you husband and wife.”
Once sober and home, the incompatible newlyweds try everything within their power to end their pantomime marriage. Unfortunately for them, the promise and vows they made to spend their life together now aren’t as easy to break as they’d once hoped.
Especially not when Brody starts to have a change of heart.
EXCERPT
“I actually don’t know where to start,” she mutters, looking at the long table of hot plates, stacked high with cooked food. Another table houses pastries and doughnuts, and another is for fruit and yoghurt.
I give the server our room numbers, and we’re told to sit wherever we’d like.
“Brody, there is too much. I’m definitely having a blueberry muffin. Look at the size of it!”
Luke and Mason aren’t here yet, so I lead Wren to a table because she can only focus on food. I pull a chair out for her.
“Did you just go all gentlemanly on me?”
“Just sit the fuck down,” I groan.
With a dazzling, toothy smile, she sits. There aren’t too many tables big enough for all six of us—at least, none that are free—but there are plenty of fours nearby. We’ll have to split up.
As if by magic, a hot-as-hell woman, probably around my age, steps to our table, holding two large jugs. “Can I offer you tea or coffee?”
You can offer me you.
“Coffee, please,” Wren says immediately, holding her mug up.
The woman smiles and pours Wren’s coffee; her eyes, though, are mostly on me.
I smile. “Coffee is great, er…”
“Ellen,” she says, smiling and tilting her head.
She pours mine.
“Babe, we need to go to the chemist. I forgot my pregnancy vitamins.”
My eyes flick from Ellen to Wren. Are you fucking kidding me?
Ellen makes her escape, muttering a quick, “Have a great day.”
Wren’s smile widens in a way I imagine a murderer’s would fresh from the kill.
I put my mug down and scratch my forehead. I need to breathe before I say something I might—or might not—regret.
“Wren… what was that?”
“I’m about to eat. I don’t want to do that with the image of you two eye-fucking each other.”
“Funny, some people might think that was jealousy.”
She sips her coffee. “Some people are idiots.”

Review

I am obviously really late with this post but life got in the way in my bookish world. Again. So here I am giving you all a review of the best funny romance book I read in a long time. Ms Preston has given us the perfect book to end of 2019. I am so grateful I was able to read it.

You all just have to go and read it. There is not enough words to tell you how awesome this book is. I could go on and introduce you to the characters but there is no point. You have to meet them by yourself and I am sure you will fall in love with Wren and Brody. They are hot. Funny and totally loveable.

Read it. Read it now.

You are welcome.

5 massive heavenly stars.

Reviews of books that I love.
